Before I can answer that question, you need to know who I am!

I’m Kalea.

I grew up in Springfield, Illinois.

I had some body image/eating disorder/ food issues during my more formative years.

These issues have since been resolved but left me with an unquenchable desire to learn everything I could about nutrition/weight loss/sports nutrition/the healing power of foods/food science/food policy/everything I could about food in general.

So I went to college and got a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.

Then I moved back to Springfield to “get my life together”. It’s a work in progress.

3 years and 3/4 of a Master’s Degree in Public Health later, I decided to start a blog.

I needed to get all of that information out of my brain and into the world.

Also, I found that although there are a lot of really great blogs out there that I absolutely love, none of the people writing them seem to be like me/in my situation. For instance, what if you have a passion for healthy food but don’t have access to a Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s? What if you’re ballin on a teeny tiny budget? What if you don’t belong to a gym?

That’s where I come in. I’m here to help you sift through the endless barrage of information, ditch all the old excuses, throw caution to the wind and just say What The Health!?
