I hope the holidays have been good to you. I love em but TBH I’m ready to eat normally and get back to my routine. If you have a holiday hangover here are some tips to help you detox:
Post Holiday Detox Tips:
Stay positive! Listen to upbeat music, dance around, get some cardio in every morning…just stay in a positive mindset. Don’t beat yourself up for having a good time and enjoying your favorite holiday treats. ..on the same token, realize when something is a favorite treat and when it’s just empty calories. For example, my sweet cousin made me a stocking full of candy. While I love sour patch kids and mini snicker bars I can live without them so those’ll go to the BF.
Eat clean. You don’t need to do a juice fast or anything, just eat real food i.e. anything that hasn’t been modified from its original version (whole fruits, vegetables, and lean protein).
Chug-a-lug some water. I’ve read anywhere between 1-3 liters but I generally try to stick to 1 oz for every pound of body weight.
Pop some pills. Especially magnesium…it’ll get things *ahem* moving. Also helpful: a multivitamin to help fill in any holes in your diet recently.
Grab a green juice. My favorite recipe: ½ a cucumber (peeled if not organic), 2 stalks of celery (please buy organic if possible), 1 green apple (peeled if not organic), a sprig of mint and a squeeze of lemon. YUM!
